STUDENT HOUSING (SERIOUSLY)

Does this look like the dorm room of your college days? It's The Flats, developed by The Lane Co., which announced yesterday that it's establishing a division to focus exclusively on the operation and management of privately owned, off-campus  student apartments. Though Lane has been in the sector 15 years, creating the division (to be headed by Rick Jones) is a sign of an even deeper commitment. Lane prez Cindy Pfeifer says her company is recognizing ?the growing role of student housing.? These days, it's nice to hear that ?G? word, but we're still bummed kids don't have to suffer through the prison cell-style rooms of our youth!
