RENT GROWTH?!

We caught up with long-time Atlanta CRE analyst Keith Pierce, who gave us this startling prediction: Office landlords may actually seerent increases in the not-too-distant future (before we colonize Mars, certainly). In the absence of new spec development, which given the still-damaged credit world is a good possibility, and gains in absorption during 2011, landlords could finally burn throughconcessions and start raising rents through 2013, he says. Keith, who runs his own consulting firm, adds that while positive absorption has likely returned, ?We're not going to see the job growth or theroaring absorption many of us had gotten used to.?
