PARKWAY TO BUY TOWER PLACE 200?

Parkway Properties may be picking up its  third Buckhead trophy tower  and adding to its office dominance in metro Atlanta. Sources tell us Parkway is in talks with CWCapital Asset Management to buy Tower Place 200, the 14-story, 260k SF office tower, for an undisclosed sum.

It would give Parkway  three Buckhead towers, with One Capital City Plaza and its big prize, 3344 Peachtree, which shares a parking deck with Tower Place. CWCapital took over as special servicer after Transwestern Investment Co defaulted on its  $50M loan  in 2010. CWCapital focused on leasing and brought the tower to market earlier this year. Parkway, which has been going on an acquisition spree in recent months in Atlanta, owns or leases some 6.5M SF here. Officials with Parkway and CWCapital could not be reached for comment.
