When we saw (and photographed) this Skanska sign at the corner of Peachtree and Collier, we couldn't help but wonder if land-locked Piedmont Hospital had plans for the small plot of land. Turns out, the hospital did buy it, but the only plan is to tear down the former Central City Tavern (old-timers may remember it as McNeely?s) and make it green space. The hospital, blocked by residential neighborhoods on one side and Peachtree on the other, recently expanded with a medical office building about a mile away on Howell Mill called Piedmont West.
