NEW AT JLL

Yesterday, new Jones Lang VP Kevin Lott, let us snap this of him in his office—though he fretted the space is still stark (only two pictures hung so far). One reason he hasn?t had time to decorate: He's often off-site, handling leasing at Colonial Center and Koger Center (recently renamed Chamblee Center). These properties are new to JLL, but Kevin has leased them both in the past. Koger is 1.1 million SF, located on a 21-acre site proximate to I-85 and I-285. Colonial Center, at Mansell Road and Westside Parkway, includes four six-story buildings totaling 653k SF.
Lately, the cocktail party banter goes, the only part of the economy growing is the federal government. Well, that's not quite so bad if the gov?t is leasing your space. Chamblee Center is 89% leased by an alphabet soup roster that includes CDCFEMA and IRS. Kevin was partly drawn to JLL because of its DC-based Government Investor Services Group. ?Government leasing  is very specialized,? he told us. ?Even the terminology is different.? Right, we hear the word progress has an entirely different meaning outside DC.
