The City of Atlanta is eyeing a plan to sell the 126-year-old Edgewood Avenue facility, formerly used to house and repair the City's old electric streetcar fleet, for redevelopment, according to a story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. It was acquired in the mid-1970s by the City, and has since been run by a nonprofit organization that rents it out for weddings and corporate events. The City aims for private development to have the building generate property tax revenue.
