In The Whirlpool

Jones Lang LaSalle VP of project development Tom Simpson says that the firm is finishing a three-year project with Whirlpool that involved $150M worth of capital improvements for a new 1.5M SF manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tenn. The property included a 400k SF distribution facility and about 50k SF of product development, including lab and research facilities. Other JLL projects executed from the Atlanta office include Dick’s Sporting Goods and Southern Wine and Spirits. It's also finishing the deconstruction of a pharmaceutical plant on a 900-acre site in South Georgia. Tom says large public companies are flush with cash and are doing the right thing by expanding their plants and facilities (even better that they’re built in America). This trend of business returning to the US means increased shareholder value and increased community investment. For more info on our sponsor, click here.
