GOT THE GOLD

It's official. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding has been awarded  LEED Gold certification in new construction, the  first hospital in Georgia to do so. The 71K SF  facility opened in August in Downtown Atlanta and was designed by architectural firm HKS. Features of the new hospital include  rainwater collection  and irrigation, solar  reflective surfaces to reduce a heat-island effect, and extensive use of  natural lighting.
