After much speculation, it appears the fate of the Glenridge Hall mansion on the site that will be both an Ashton Woods neighborhood and Mercedes-Benz's HQ is to meet the wrecking ball. The Glenridge Hall family office plans to tear down the 84-year-old Sandy Springs mansion to make way for Ashton Woods' project that will include single-family homes and a 12-acre parcel set aside for Mercedes. Glenridge Hall's family office director Mike Rabalais told the Neighbor Newspapers that the family plans to “give the home a dignified death. It has to be done before we close.” The family obtained demolition permits for the 15k SF home earlier this month. [NN]
