Glenridge Hall Fated for Wrecking Ball

After much speculation, it appears the fate of the Glenridge Hall mansion on the site that will be both an Ashton Woods neighborhood and Mercedes-Benz's HQ is to meet the wrecking ball. The Glenridge Hall family office plans to tear down the 84-year-old Sandy Springs mansion to make way for Ashton Woods' project that will include single-family homes and a 12-acre parcel set aside for Mercedes. Glenridge Hall's family office director Mike Rabalais told the Neighbor Newspapers that the family plans to “give the home a dignified death. It has to be done before we close.” The family obtained demolition permits for the 15k SF home earlier this month. [NN]
