BLOCKING ATLANTA

Welcome the latest CRE firm to Atlanta: Kansas City-based Block Real Estate Services officially opened a local office and hired  Bert Calvert to manage its more than 1M SF of assets here (the company previously managed its properties from its home base).
 
Bert, whom we chatted with during our ?Future of Central Perimeter? event last week, comes from IDI where he was SVP. He now will be managing and growing Block's real estate presence in Atlanta. He calls Atlanta "a key strategic growth market" for Block, due to its vibrancy and the abundance of  high-quality real estate.? They want to be poised to take advantage of the market when it rebounds—"as it always does.? Block owns 1.4M SF in Atlanta, including Mansell Court Office Center in Alpharetta, three buildings on Triangle Parkway in Peachtree Corners, Conyers Logistic Center, and 3080 Northfield Place in Roswell. The company will continue to outsource its leasing, Bert tells us.
