The former US ambassador to Denmark is now part of one of San Diego's most prolific life science real estate developers. Alexandria Real Estate Equities has named Cain Global Partners' James P. Cain to the REIT's nominating and governance committee and science and tech committee of the board of directors, as well as an independent director through 2016. ARE officials cite his “important experience in innovation cluster development,” including his influence in growing North Carolina's tech cluster, Research Triangle Park. James was the ambassador to Denmark from 2005 to 2009 under President George W. Bush.
