| The discount grocer—with 28 stores in the Atlanta market, including this one in Duluth—continues to expand, including new sites in Roswell and Hiram, says Aldi's RE director Bobby Ochs. And it expects to announce the purchase and planned construction of several new stores, CBRE's Kirk Buttle tells us. Aldi prefers to purchase its own sites, usually 2.5 acres, and construct an 18k SF store, he says. With the completion of its warehouse anddistribution facility in Jefferson, Ga., Aldi expects to continue to add stores in metro Atlanta. Bobby also tells us that Aldi's growth willspread southward, possibly to Columbus and Augusta. |
