Herrick Feinstein named Belinda Schwartz chair of its real estate department last week, making her one of the only female chairs of a major real estate law practice. Here’s the Duke basketball fan with Herrick chairman Irwin Kishner, who’s been helping the Yankees sell a majority stake in the YES Network to 21st Century Fox. Belinda’s advice for anyone entering the industry: “Work incredibly hard and don’t be afraid to push yourself… Luck also plays a part.” She’s never lived anywhere but the UWS and lives there now with her husband. One son is in law school, and the other is about to enter med school. She also supports foundations focused on college mental health, meals for UWS residents in need, and support for women in trying family situations. And she still reads three newspapers a day.
