The interesting thing about tech companies is that the market tends to steer them to its needs. Honest Buildings’ Geoff Lewis, whom we snapped in his Woolworth Building office, tells us that two years ago, his firm was a Yelp-style building-review website with a green bent. It has since become a marketplace for developers and tenants to connect with more than 20,000 architects, engineers, and contractors. The site has originated more than $200M in contracts for NYC projects, and it expects that number to double in the next few months.

A recent $10M injection from venture capitalist Josh Kushner of Thrive Capital (his brother Jared is now on Honest Buildings’ board), Westly Group, and Rockport Group has helped HB’s new data team (above) continue its innovations. Geoff tells us HB is growing its RFQ-management platform to help users produce a hit list of vendors that's guided by factors like work experience and references.
