Savills Studley Hires Former CBRE Retail Exec For National Role

Tenant-rep brokerage Savills Studley has hired a CBRE retail heavy hitter to head its national retail strategies practice.

Gerry Prager comes to the firm after 13 years at CBRE, where he was Manhattan retail group senior manager and oversaw a staff of 30 retail brokers. He'll be a senior vice president for Savills Studley.

CBRE’s retail group has been nothing if not prolific lately. Last year it closed 1.4M SF of deals and brought the firm $50M in revenue. Last year, Savills Studley also recruited former CBRE broker Susan Kurland, who helped it launch a NYC, retail-focused operation.

The move comes as big brokerages are relying on marquee moves, like the recent poaching of bona fide brokerage rock stars Doug Harmon and Adam Spies by Cushman & Wakefield from Eastdil Secured.
