Major Retail Brands Are Setting Up Shop On Court Street

Could Brooklyn’s Court Street be a new retail hotspot?

Cushman & Wakefield retail specialist Diana Boutross thinks so, telling the New York Post national, Millennial-catering chains—Sephora, Chipotle, Rag & Bone, GameStop, Trader Joe’s and several others—have set up shop on Court over the last five years.

Most stores are gravitating to Court Street’s northern and southern ends, near  Cadman Plaza and the Gowanus Expressway, respectively.

While the bigger brands are still the minority on the street, J. Crew has signed a lease for 151 Court St, and Diana says brands like Doc Martens, Steve Madden, Bluemercury, Warby Parker and Kiehl’s have begun looking for space, especially as area population rises, the L train shutdown approaches and asking rents hover around $200/SF.
