$100M Penthouse Sale Breaks NYC Record

$100M Penthouse Sale Breaks NYC Record

New York's sizzling condo market broke the $100M barrier with the sale of the One57 penthouse. A deep-pocketed buyer sadly kept anonymous by an LLC topped Dmitry Rybbolovlev's $88M condo buy at 15 Central Park West with the $100.5M purchase of the 10,923SF sky high pad. Still, the Russian fertilizer tycoon can lay claim to a higher per SF pricetag of $13K compared to the roughly $9K PSF figure in the Extel tower just south of Central Park.

The penthouse takes up the 89th and 90th floors of the tower, which led the charge of stick-thin residential skyscrapers on 57th Street and its environs. The buyer picked up the apartment back in 2012, but the sale only closed late last month.
