Mast Chocolate has signed a lease for 65k SF in the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Green Manufacturing Center. The expansion will let the chocolate maker more than double its current workforce of 75 people.

The Navy Yard’s employment center will help the company recruit local residents, according to a long-term plan to fill out the new spread with 100 new jobs.

The new facility will host the world’s first chocolate brewery, where Mast’s non-alcoholic chocolate beer will be brewed, bottled, kegged and distributed.

“We are humbled by the opportunity to grow our family business in such a stunning, historic and state-of-the-art facility in the Brooklyn Navy Yard,” Rick Mast, co-founder and CEO said in a statement.

On another note, the Navy Yard will host tonight’s Democratic debate between Bernie Sanders, a Brooklyn native, and Hillary Clinton, whose campaign has office space in the borough.
