Cornell Realty Wants To Bring A 26-Story Hotel To Williamsburg

Cornell Realty Management is planning to build a mixed-use building in Brooklyn that will feature 21 residential units and a 251-room hotel.

The proposed building, at 159 Broadway, would reach 277 feet, with 77K SF for commercial space and 18K SF for the residential area, according to Department of Buildings filings reported by The Real Deal. The units will average 860 SF, New York YIMBY reports.

The firm bought the site for around $26M last last year. Cornell Realty is also developing a retail and office building at 200 Kent Ave., which will be home to 117K SF of office and retail, including a Trader Joe's, as well as a parking garage spanning 45K SF.

The company had been planning a major residential development in Crown Heights, but those plans were dropped following community opposition.
