The Real Estate Board of New York is hosting the reimagined version of its annual banquet this week, honoring a group of real estate professionals for contributions to the city and the industry.

Instead of the traditional winter black-tie dinner, REBNY has brought back the storied industry party in the form of a summer cocktail event dubbed New York Forever: A Celebration of Our City.

On Thursday, Jeff Levine, the founder and chairman of Douglaston Development, alongside Fetner Properties CEO Hal Fetner and Gotham Organization CEO David Picket, will receive the Harry B. Helmsley Distinguished New Yorker Award for their work creating the “Project Parachute” initiative — which worked with the nonprofit community to provide housing during the pandemic.

NAACP New York State Conference President Hazel Dukes will receive the John E. Zuccotti Public Service Award, while TF Cornerstone Chairman Tom Elghanayan will be given the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Leadership in Real Estate Award to celebrate his 50-year-plus career.

Sarah Saltzberg, who co-owns Bohemia Realty Group, will receive the Kenneth R. Gerrety Humanitarian Award for driving a conversation on housing voucher access. CBRE’s Darcy Stacom will take home the Louis Smadbeck Memorial Broker Recognition Award and Frank Pusinelli, the chief operating officer at RXR Realty, is being honored as the management executive of the year. The Young Real Estate Professional of the Year Award will be presented to Laura Jackson, an SL Green senior vice president.

The event is being held June 23 at The Glasshouse in Hell’s Kitchen. It is being run in partnership with nonprofit NY Forever and some of the funds from the event will go to the REBNY Foundation's programs that aim to increase diversity in the industry.
