Avison Young announced today that it will nearly triple its Manhattan office space by signing up for a 40k SF, full-floor spread at 1166 Avenue of the Americas. The firm has operated in the New York market since 2012, out of a 14k SF space at 623 Fifth Avenue. The real estate services firm was tapped by the Moinian Group to head up leasing at the 66-story 3 Hudson Boulevard, to be built in the new Hudson Yards development on the far west side of Manhattan.

Marcus & Millichap will also soon join the hunt for a new office in New York when its current lease at 270 Madison Avenue expires this year, Crain’s New York Business reports. A move into a roughly 40k SF space would just about double the firm’s New York footprint. Massey Knakal’s December acquisition by Cushman & Wakefield may also boost Cushman’s share of New York office space. The Avison Young move will be under a sub-sub-sublease agreement with Advance Magazine Publishers
