YESTERDAY'S AREW LUNCHEON

New York
YESTERDAY'S AREW LUNCHEON
We joined AREW yesterday for a Mediterranean feast at its annual members-only luncheon, held this year at Barbounia on Park Avenue South. We're amazed anyone made it back to the office after all of that food and champagne.

During the luncheon, AREW presented its first ever Merle Gross-Ginsburg scholarships, named after the AREW founder, who's here flanked by lucky winners, NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate graduate students Emely Cabrera and MacKenzie Landers. The awards, which totaled $10k, were funded by AREW's 30th Anniversary Gala. Congrats!

And may we offer another congratulations to Marketing for Designers'Iva Kravitz (center), who was presented with AREW's Founders' Award, bestowed upon a member who personifies excellence in representing AREW and for consistently supporting the organization's mission and goals (and it sure has many). With her are now-immediate past president Jennifer McCool of The Related Cos. and Prudential Douglas Elliman's Faith Hope Consolo, who introduced the award during her '94 presidency.

Jennifer also received her own accolade—membership into AREW's Presidents Council (and a snazzy pin). Here, she introduces the '09-'10 officers: JLC Environmental Consultants' Jennifer Carey, Perkins+Will's Debra Cole, Caran Properties' Rebecca Mason, and Paul Hastings' Jill Leonardis. Trump Org.'s Bonnie Kirschenbaum snuck out before the photo, so just pretend she's there.

Newmark Knight Frank's Robin Fisher and IA Interior Architects'Mindy Williams have reason to smile. Robin just brokered a lease on behalf of TheaterMania.com, which is relocating and expanding into 9.3k SF at 1156 Avenue of the Americas. Mindy just got engaged to beau Seamus, and is planning an April destination wedding in the Caribbean. If you need a photographer, hint, hint.

KTR Real Estate Advisors' Theresa Nygard, past president Anne Teshima, and Architecture+'s Christa Giesecke. Theresa just returned from her daughter's graduation from Amherst (take note employers), and Anne recently jetted back from Paris, where she attended her sister's art gallery opening.

It seems that everyone is traveling these days! Argo Corp.'s Karen Berman (right, with First Republic Bank's Diana Elton and GuardHill Financial's Rochelle Crespi), is heading off for an 11-day cruise to Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Any room in your suitcase for us?

Clifford Chance's Joan Mazur, International Home Realty's Beverly Chan, and CUH2A's Mary Williamson. In the mood to do some good? Make sure to drop by AREW Charitable Fund's and designer Jes Wades' WIN WIN WIN networking event on June 10 to benefit Women In Need (details and more photos from yesterday).
