| Amid the flurry of industry event cancellations and closing offices last Thursday, the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York donned their boots, shoveled the sidewalk, and held a seminar focusing on how bankruptcy will affect troubled commercial real estate loans this time around. Latham & Watkins’ Joshua Stein, chair of the chapter’s educational committee, moderated, while two leading NYC bankruptcy lawyers, Loeb & Loeb’s Greg Schwed and Latham & Watkins’ Mark Broude, talked about new issues bankers need to know about and how courts will respond to single-asset real estate cases and deal with commercial real estate going forward. |
