Bisnow’s been attending B’nai B’rith Real Estate Unit luncheons for almost a year now and has seen a great jump in attendance—from 50 people to sold-out 150-seat events at the Cornell Club. We'd love to take the credit, but recent keynoters like Shaun Donovan,Daniel Libeskind, Seth Pinsky, and Tony Malkin are no slouches either. They tell us the organization is the real estate arm of the fraternal B’nai B’rith, an Israel and human rights advocate with an educational and humanitarian focus. Proceeds collected at the door go to philanthropic missions B’nai B’rith supports, including senior housing, Hillel university foundation, anti-Semitic advocacy, disaster relief, and education. The real estate unit also has the Young Development Group, which it’s expanding. One event members recently participated in through B’nai B’rith International was the Stand for Freedom in Iran rally on September 24 at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza.

Its next lunch, on November 4, will focus on distressed assets, featuring a panel with Alchemy Properties’Joel Breitkopf, The Carlton Group’s Andy Cherrick, M&T Bank’s Gino Martocci, Guardian Life Insurance’s Robert O’Rourke, and Ackman-Ziff’s Shawn Rosenthal.
