A few blocks away, global law firm Proskauer Rose has moved into its new offices at Eleven Times Square as the 400k SF anchor tenant. Above, Proskauer incoming chairman Joseph Leccese,Mayor Mike, and current chairman Allen Fagin cut the ribbon to the new office last Wednesday, where they were joined by a number of city, local biz, and community leaders. The firm occupies 14 floors, and will be the first law firm to have its name prominently displayedat the top of its HQ, with a 50-foot long, 20-foot high backlit sign. As part of the move, the firm donated the office furniture and equipment from its former office at 1585 Broadway to the NYC Fire Departmentfor use in its firehouses, offices, and training facilities.

It’s a big month for the 1.1M SF mixed-use building, developed bySJP Properties. Two weeks ago, the US Green Building Councilapproved the building’s LEED Gold certification. One feature is anadvanced air-filtration system that optimizes indoor-air quality (the air is filtered 30% above standards by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers), and filters85% to 95% of all standard particulants found in a typical Midtown office building. It also has a glass curtain wall that reduces heat gain, which minimizes thermal loss (and decreases heating, cooling, and overall utility costs) and a rainwater collection system that gathers 685,000 gallons annually.
