CBRE Group has acquired Floored, a New York-based company that creates interactive 3D graphics and technology for the hospitality and commercial real estate industries.

CBRE chief digital and technology officer Chandra Dhandapani (above) said in a release that many of her firm's clients already have been using Floored technology, which she said provides a "powerful advantage" when it comes to the marketing and leasing of commercial properties, enabling clients to configure, visualize and compare vacant space, and arrange virtual tours and 3D walk-through experiences for new, unbuilt and repositioned spaces.

Floored CEO David Eisenberg will join CBRE as part of the acquisition, serving as SVP of digital enablement and technology for CBRE’s leasing business. He’ll be bringing along Floored CTO Dustin Byrne, engineering VP Judy He and the company’s 36-person team of engineers, designers, 3D modelers and client support personnel.

The technology allows users to visualize and edit floor plans in 2D and 3D (including accurate external window views from each floor) and to create customized space layouts in real time. Floored clients include Related, which is developing the futuristic Hudson Yards project in Manhattan, Equity Office, Hines and Beacon Capital.
