Trump In Talks With Blackstone Real Estate Head About Possible Treasury Post

Placeholder

Donald Trump is considering Blackstone Group global head of real estate Jonathan Gray for the Treasury secretary post.

The President-elect met with Gray Sunday afternoon to discuss the position, Bloomberg reports. Gray—a Democrat who financially supported Hillary Clinton during the presidential race—is one of several candidates being considered for the position of economic adviser to Trump, and if selected will play a big role in future economic policy.

Other candidates being considered for the position include Trump’s campaign finance manager, Steven Mnuchin, Bridgewater Associates president David McCormick and billionaire Wilbur Ross. Gray manages Blackstone’s $102B portfolio of office, hotel and retail assets and is considered in line to take over Blackstone in the future. [Bloomberg]
