SURVEY: What A Recession Means For CRE

After the U.S. posted a second consecutive quarter of negative growth, "recession" is the word of the day.

But with a job market still churning along, record-high rents in multifamily and industrial properties, and a strong dollar, the question of whether the economy is in a recession is an open one.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's answer last week was "no," but over half of credit investors last week predicted a recession was on the way in a Bank of America survey. 

Considering all the confusion, Bisnow is taking the pulse of the industry about what makes a recession and if a recession actually matters to commercial real estate if the property market is largely healthy.
