Investors Snap Up George Jones Museum

Placeholder

Possum Real Estate Holdings acquired 128 Second Ave N, home of the George Jones Museum, for $18M. Possum is comprised of Red Light Management founder R. Coran Capshaw and an unnamed Brentwood marketing exec, according to the Nashville Business Journal. R. Coran helped launch the career of the Dave Matthews Band, and owns stakes in the festivals Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and South by Southwest.

The 46k SF building includes a second-floor museum devoted to the Possum's memorabilia, such as a John Deere riding mower owned by the legend himself. George Jones' widow, Nancy, opened the museum last year, along with a restaurant, a rooftop bar and event space. The investors not only acquired the George Jones artifacts and the building, but also a master license to his name, likeness and image. [NBJ]
