Middleburg Real Estate Partners paid $9M for a 23-acre property at 1222 Liberty Pike in Cool Springs. The site is one of the dwindling number in the heart of the commercial building boom in the Cool Springs area, the Nashville Business Journal reports.

Middleburg, based in Fairfax County, Va., acquired the property from SouthStar, paying more than double the sum SouthStar paid about two years ago. The previous owner received rezoning that allows for about 450 apartments to be built on the site.

Through a JV, Middleburg also owns and manages four apartments in Davidson County, totaling 1,450 units. The properties are in Antioch, in Madison and east of the airport.
