IHG Calls Off Hotel Development In The Gulch

Placeholder

Atlanta-based InterContinental Hotels Group, which had planned to develop a 120-room Staybridge Suites in the Gulch, has decided not to proceed with the development. The company did not specify any reasons for the decision, but it confirmed to the Nashville Post that the Staybridge Suites at 1212 McGavock St. was a no-go.

IHG is not giving up on a new hotel development in Nashville, however. Instead, the company wants to develop a 120-room Staybridge Suites at 2540 Perimeter Place Drive in the airport market. That project is slated for groundbreaking this summer, with an opening in Q3 2018.

So far there are no Staybridge Suites properties in Nashville. Tennessee's only hotels under that extended-stay flag are one in Memphis, two in the Knoxville area and two in the Chattanooga market.
