What You Need to Know About the Future of Hollywood

Development in Hollywood is booming, with both new office and residential towers underway. That why we're rolling out the red carpet for Bisnow's The Future of Hollywood: A Development Blockbuster, Wednesday, April 29, at the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard, starting at 8am.

Among our panelists will be Kilroy Realty EVP David Simon, who tells us he expects to announce another high-profile tenant at the firm's massive Columbia Square. As you already know, it was a big coup when Viacom decided to consolidate the HQs of MTV, BET, Comedy Central, VH1 and TV Land in the mixed-use development at Sunset and Gower. And with Viacom's Paramount Pictures unit just down the street, David foresees potential synergies between the two. He also expects a lot of energy surrounding another key tenant, NeueHouse. The private membership workspace collective's 934k SF space will be a cultural hub for Hollywood when it opens in mid-summer.

Last week, they poured the 12th floor for Columbia Square's residential tower, which will be managed by The Kor Group. The luxury project, consisting of traditional rentals plus corporate extended-stay housing, is on track to open in Q1 next year. Nearby, Kilroy's 4.5-acre The Academy project, another media and entertainment environment, is going through the entitlement process with approvals expected by year-end. You won't want to miss David or our other A-list speakers, including Champion Real Estate's Bob Champion, Hudson Pacific's Chris Barton and JLL's Carl Muhlstein, as well as our keynoter: Hollywood Property Owners Alliance exec director Kerry Morrison.
