Playboy Mansion Sells To A Neighbor

Placeholder

The Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills has finally been sold.

What makes the deal even more interesting is that Playboy founder Hugh Hefner doesn't have to move out.

The buyer is Metropoulos & Co principal Daren Metropoulos, who lives next door in an $18M house he bought from Hugh seven years ago, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The sale price for the approximately 20k SF Playboy Mansion, built in 1927, has not been disclosed. The property was listed in January for $200M at which time Hugh requested any potential buyers allow him to live in the house until his dying day. Above is the north side of the mansion in 2007.

Meanwhile, Daren plans to connect the two properties and form a 7.3-acre compound. [WSJ]
