The Nau Center for Texas Culture Heritage broke ground yesterday. The high-tech 70k SF museum’s been highly anticipated as building cultural tourism (it’s estimated to attract 400,000 visitors a year) and expanding the amenities in Downtown. Here’s Mayor Parker, Nau Center chairman John Nau III and Camden CEO/Houston First chairman Ric Campo at yesterday afternoon’s groundbreaking—the Nau Center is a PPP where the City donated the land and Houston First will operate the facility. Bailey Architects designed the property, Linbeck is GC, and Gallagher & Associates will design the visitor center and exhibits. The Nau Center will include the restoration of the historic Cohn House; everything will be open in time for the 2017 Super Bowl.
