In our rapidly changing economy, innovation and collaboration go hand-in-hand. That's why co-working spaces have been popping up around the nation. Not to be outdone by culture centers like New York and LA, Houston has plenty of its own co-working spaces to help spark your imagination and drive. 

START Houston


Location: EaDo, 1121 Delano St

It makes sense that a trendy co-working space such as START Houston is in the up-and-coming neighborhood EaDo. Just a few blocks west of Dynamo stadium, START is Houston’s most established co-working/startup space. The open space, comfortable chairs and giant Simpsons mural create an environment you want to work in. START hosts hackathons and meetups to fuel collaboration and build the startup community. Some of Houston’s most successful startups, like ChaiOne, have called START home at some point. If you’re interested in trying it out, START has free co-working on Thursdays. 

The Work Lodge


Location: Northwest Houston, 118 Vintage Park Blvd

A co-working space this far from Houston’s urban core is surprising, but what’s even more surprising is how great it is. Located in the Vintage Park shopping center, The Work Lodge offers beautifully designed space, attentive staff and plenty of networking to help grow your business. Think the slide is the best part? You’re wrong. The Work Lodge has Free Beer Fridays to help get the creative juices flowing.

Level Office


Location: Downtown, 720 Rusk

If you’re looking for a coworking space Downtown that is quiet, consistent and affordable, look no further than Level Office. Dark lofted ceilings are contrasted with geo decorations, bright walls and vintage light fixtures to create a beautiful aesthetic. Level Office gives you the benefit of having a Downtown address and METRO and tunnel access for an affordable price. The staff keeps the place in perfect condition and is accommodating to guests and clients of tenants. 



Location: Midtown, 2502 La Branch

WiCoWork is in a converted home, giving the space a unique, un-office-like feel. The home-style layout makes the co-working community feel like family. The staff have as much character as the space itself. The freshly brewed Colombian coffee always at the ready may be worth the price alone. As one of the more affordable spaces, WiCoWork is a great option for the aspiring young entrepreneurs in Midtown.

Houston MakerSpace


Location: Eado, 3605 Tarvis

Leave the white collar at home. Ditch the briefcase. Houston MakerSpace is for builders, those who get their hands dirty. You won’t find sleek design aesthetic or fancy lighting here. What you will find is a wood shop, welding shop and 3D printers. MakerSpace offers a plethora of classes to get you started doing whatever type of creating your heart desires. Materials are plentiful and you only pay for what you use. If you’re the type of tinkerer that loves to create, MakerSpace is for you. 

The CoWork Lab


Location: The Heights, 2500 Yale

The CoWork Lab brings co-working to The Heights. While plans are a little pricey, you get a lot from a membership. The CoWork Lab offers clean space and comfortable chairs. You won’t find gimmicks here, just top-notch basics. The best part of a membership with CoWork Lab is that it grants you access to all other co-working spaces in its extensive flagship network. If you travel often, The CoWork Lab may be the co-working space for you.



Location: EaDo, 205 Roberts

TX/RX has every tool you’ve ever heard of and probably a few you haven’t. Expertise abounds at TX/RX, which offers dozens of classes to teach you how to fabricate just about anything. With plans and pricing to fit any budget, the potential at TX/RX is unlimited. If you’re interested in checking it out, the space host an open house Fridays after 7pm which are always lively and informative. The tour is worth taking just to see the giant plasma cutter in action.
