ChaiOne, a Houston-based enterprise software and mobile app developer, relocated from 4900 Woodway to 12k SF on the top floor of 1800 West Loop South.
The company originally planned to move into an older building in East Downtown that had served as Schlumberger’s original HQ in 1938. ChaiOne CEO Gaurav Khandelwal bought the building in 2013 intending to renovate and house the company. However, the company’s rapid growth made the move to the new space more suitable for the company, according to the Houston Business Journal.
The new space will allow the company to add about 20 people this year and is great for entertaining clients and partners.
Khandelwal plans to put the downtown space on the market for $2.9M and will either sell the building outright or reinvent the space as a tech hub. [HBJ]
