Springwoods Village was born with Exxon Mobil's 3M SF campus, and in the years since, big-time companies have continued to add corporate campuses.

One of the latest additions to the list is Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The company is taking a 568K SF campus in Springwoods' 60-acre CityPlace mixed-use development.

The CityPlace development team of Patrinely Group, USAA Real Estate and CDC Houston will develop the property, which is expected to break ground in Q4 2019. It will consist of two buildings at the southwest corner of Easy Mossy Oaks Road and Lake Plaza Drive.

“The city of Houston remains a top location for Hewlett Packard Enterprise,” HPE CEO Antonio Neri said in a news release. “We asked our employees what they were looking for in a new site. They wanted a vibrant setting, easy access to amenities and major highways and a location close to their homes. CityPlace checked all of those boxes for us.”

This is the fourth major corporation to take up shop in CityPlace: HP Inc., Southwestern Energy and the American Bureau of Shipping have campuses there. HP's 378K SF building is scheduled to open by the end of the year.

The team began construction in June on CityPlace 1, which has 123K SF of office and 27K SF of ground-floor retail available for lease, according to the release. It is scheduled to deliver in Q2. The JV also has a mixed-use project underway anchored by a 50K SF Star Cinema Grill. That is slated to deliver in Q1.

JLL's Ronnie Deyo and Beau Bellow represented the tenant, and Patrinely's Dennis Tarro and JLL's Chrissy Wilson and Russell Hodges represented the landlord.

Springwoods Village is a 2,000-acre master-planned community in Spring; CityPlace is the commercial center of it.
