Westin The Woodlands To Open February

Starwood Hotels' The Westin The Woodlands is close to welcoming its first guests, and Howard Hughes celebrated by releasing new renderings. The 13-story luxury hotel will open its doors in late February at 2 Waterway Square.

The contemporary-styled hotel is set along the The Woodlands Waterway, a tree-lined canal and path system that winds through downtown. The property anchors Waterway Square, the vibrant mixed-use area.

The new landmark property has 302 modern-style guest rooms and numerous upscale amenities, including its signature Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath.

A circular, grand staircase leads to the main entrance to Current, the hotel's gourmet restaurant. The staircase spiral creates a glass-and-steel nest for what is sure to become the restaurant’s most requested table for a larger party of up to a dozen—ideal for people watching both inside and out.

The restaurant will serve seasonally changing means with unobstructed views of the waterways and fountains from its second-floor vantage point, and also features a demonstration kitchen.

The Westin is just one of 10 hotels set to open in 2016 in The Woodlands.

The Howard Hughes Corp, which owns The Westin The Woodlands, has been developing The Woodlands aggressively. Earlier in 2015, the company completed $75M in renovations to The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center and unveiled the 66-acre Hughes Landing mixed-use district, which features an anchor Whole Foods Market, waterfront Restaurant Row and soon-to-open 205-room Embassy Suites, which it also owns and operates.
