Placeholder

The State of Colorado has kicked off a new construction career training program in conjunction with the Associated General Contractors of Colorado. The program, Construction Careers Now, offers a month of career training at the Emily Griffith Technical College. Its goal is to get people ready to fill jobs in the construction industry.

A $1.1M grant from the state to AGC of Colorado, the Colorado Contractors Association and Hispanic Contractors of Colorado is funding the program, the Denver Business Journal reports. Construction workers have been in short supply lately in Colorado, and according to the AGC of Colorado, as many as 30,000 more workers will be needed in the state over the next seven years. [DBJ]
