A NEW KIND OF PARTNERSHIP
Manhattan as Loews Hotels & Resorts CEO Paul Whetsell, US Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Loews chairman Jonathan Tisch, and US Customs and Border Protection deputy commissioner David Aguilar expedited screening
Bisnow was on hand this week in Manhattan as Loews Hotels & Resorts CEO Paul Whetsell, US Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Loews chairman Jonathan Tisch, and US Customs and Border Protection deputy commissioner David Aguilar announced a new public-private partnership between Loews—which owns 18 hotels across the US, including The Madson—and the government. Loews is the first hotel company to partner with DHS for its Trusted Travelers Network, which allows for expedited screening at airports. (Loews will be offering its top customers complimentary enrollment in the program, which normally costs $100 for five years, and among other things, allows you to keep your shoes on.) Paul says Loews is seeking to further expand in gateway cities and is spending $200M to upgrade its hotels.
