Hope Cottage Opens New Office

Placeholder

Adoption agency Hope Cottage moved into its new 9k SF office last week in the nonprofit neighborhood that includes the Latino Cultural Center, Casa and the Meadows Foundation. Gensler designed the project, Royal General Contractors constructed it, and Bury engineered it.

Gensler worked to make the office building feel more like a contemporary home with a transparent and airy feel. The three-story office also has a top floor porch with a sweet view of the Downtown skyline. A wrapped front porch on the ground floor complements the metal and limestone exterior.

Gensler principal Barry Hand says his team of Cindy Simpson, Ross Conway, Julien Meyrat and Denise Bates took what could have been a cold and sterile environment and tried to make it as warm and welcoming as a home.

Hope Cottage was founded in 1918 and offers comprehensive pre- and post-adoption services.
