When Jerry Jones’ 3M SF shrine, Cowboys Stadium, opened in May 2009, it didn’t just raise the bar for sports stadiums, it punted it into orbit. Jerry's at it again with a multi-purpose complex in Frisco, TX. The 770K SF space, dubbed the The Star, is heralded as the World Headquarters of the Cowboys. The new facility will have two outdoor practice fields and a 12,000-seat indoor stadium, which it will share with Frisco ISD. Also on the grounds will be a Baylor Scott and White Health sports medicine and fitness center—training camp has never been safer or more accessible. Also included in the training facility is the “Cowboys Club,” where for a small fee of up to $4,500, fans can watch the team practice.

As with "Jerry World," his billion-dollar football palace, Jones’ new undertaking is about more than just football. In addition to the athletic side of the complex, it will include retail shopping and an upscale 16-story Omni hotel, scheduled to open in 2017.

The deal is expected to bring millions of dollars and tens of thousands of fans to the already booming City of Frisco, whose population has swelled to nearly five times what it was in 2000. It also produces yet another revenue stream, but most importantly another face for the Cowboys brand.

The new facility has a final cost of $250M, $115M of which the City of Frisco is paying to add the Cowboys to a growing list of sports teams in the area, including the Frisco Roughriders minor league baseball team; Dallas’ MLS team; FC Dallas; and the Mavericks NBA-D league affiliate, Texas Legends.
