McDonald's highly anticipated HQ move from Oak Brook to the West Loop made more headlines yesterday with news that the hamburger giant expanded its footprint in the $250M, nine-story property Sterling Bay is building on the former Harpo Studios campus.

McDonald's originally signed a 15-year, 390k SF lease. Now, it's expected to occupy 500k SF, according to Crain's. That expanded footprint includes all of the project's office space and an unspecified amount of ground-level retail. McDonald's is expected to move to the West Loop in 2018.

In other McDonald's-related news, the company hired CBRE's Todd Lippman to market its Oak Brook campus to buyers in what will almost certainly be a value-add opportunity. [Crain's]
