Morton Salt To Become River Point's Newest Tenant

Hines Interests' two new office towers being constructed in the West Loop continue to gain momentum as one is rumored to be in serious talks with Morton Salt. Chicago-based Morton Salt is said to be looking at 52k SF on two floors in the 52-story River Point tower at 444 W Lake St. Hines Interest senior managing director Greg Van Schaack wouldn't confirm the deal, but did confirm River Point's newest tenants, Allstate and LEK Consulting, which signed leases for 13k SF and 26k SF, Crain's Chicago reports. 60% of the 1.1M SF River Point, part of a venture between Hines, Ivanhoe Cambridge and Chicago businessman Larry Levy, is already leased up. Law firms McDermott Will & Emery and DLA Piper are anchor tenants, and Mead Johnson Nutrition is relocating its headquarters to 75k-plus SF there. [Crain's]
