Rahm to Introduce TOD Reform Ordinance

Chicago

Mayor Rahm Emanuel will introduce an ordinance at tomorrow's City Council meeting that'll create incentives for more development near CTA and Metra stations. The changes build on Rahm's 2013 TOD ordinance by expanding the size of TOD zones, eliminating parking requirements completely, and adding new incentives for affordable housing. The mayor's reforms come on the heels of a new TOD push by the Metropolitan Planning Council the group believes would add $400M to the local economy and $100M in tax revenue for the city and its sister agencies annually.
