Morton Salt Signs 16-Year River Point Lease

When it rains, it pours. Morton Salt signed a long-term lease yesterday with Hines Interests to move its corporate HQ from 123 N Wacker Dr to River Point. News of Morton’s interest in the 52-story tower at 444 W Lake St first broke in April. The lease will run 16 years, and Morton Salt will occupy two floors and 52k SF of office space. Additionally, Morton will consolidate its 300 downtown employees with 50 customer service employees based in Oak Brook. Hines senior managing director Greg Van Schaack said in March Hines had already leased 60% of River Point’s 1.05M SF. Law firms McDermott Will & Emery and DLA Piper are anchor tenants, while Mead Johnson Nutrition is moving into 75k SF of office space. Morton Salt will move into River Point in December 2016.
