The Deal Sheet
IDI  signed two leases totaling 553k SF in the Chicago market. OHL signed a 270k SF lease at Bolingbrook Corporate Center West Building II at 1150 115th St, expanding the 183k SF space the company grabbed in February 2010.
 
Bolingbrook Corporate Center West
NAI Hiffman's Ben Cremer and Michael Robbins repped  IDI and Champion Realty's JD Salazar and ProVenture's Randy Wolcott repped OHL. In Southgate Commerce Center, IDI closed a lease extension with an unnamed tenant for 284k SF at 2051 Baseline Rd in Montgomery.

Leasing News

HSA Commercial's Tim Thompson and Brad Borkowski repped Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System in the lease of a 404k SF building at 555 St James Gate in Bolingbrook and a 174k SF lease renewal at 500 Country Club Dr in Bensenville. The Bolingbrook building is owned by Duke Realty Corp and the Bensenville facility is owned by CenterPoint Properties.

Champion Fields leased 31k SF at 853 Expressway Dr in Itasca. Owned by principals long active in the soccer industry, Champion Fields is is trying to meet demand for indoor soccer in central DuPage County. Cushman & Wakefield's Mike Hawryluk  repped Champion Fields in the 63-month lease. Arthur Rogers & Co's Mark Baumhart  and Brian Schmitz represented the landlord, Platinum Partners.

Executive Moves

Lauren Finch (communications director) and Allison Garwood Freedland (program manager) have joined the Chicago chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Wayne Stocks has been named Thornton Tomasetti's leader of the Mid-Atlantic and US Southern regions and has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the Thornton Tomasetti Foundation. He has 23 years of experience with all types of structures including educational facilities, hospitals, sports and entertainment venues, and national monuments. He has a bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University  and a Master's from The University of Texas at Austin.

Don Johansson has been promoted by @properties to commercial coordinator. Prior to taking on his new role, Don spent two years as a commercial broker with the firm. He has worked in commercial real estate for 17 years. He is responsible for management, marketing, and support for brokers within @properties’ commercial division. He has also worked for Jameson Real Estate and  Inland Real Estate Sales and Auctions. Don is a graduate of DePaul University and a member of the  Chicago Association of Realtors.

Two members of BOMA Suburban Chicago have been named to the BOMA International Executive committee. CBRE's Steven Hrbek was named to the board and Triton College's John Lambrecht was elected president of the North Central Region.

Sales News 

The Boulder Group's Randy Blankstein and Jimmy Goodman completed the sale of a single tenant net leased ConocoPhillips property located at 10 S Randall Rd in Algonquin for $5.2M. The 43k SF parcel was originally developed in 1995. The Boulder Group repped the seller, a Chicago based partnership. The purchaser was a private high net worth investor from Atlanta.

Mid-America Real Estate Corp's Luke Molloy and FJ Williams Realty's Greg Bayer  and Bettye Reynolds repped the buyer of the 22k SF office building formerly tenanted by the Chicago Patrolmen's Federal Credit Union to a Chicago nonprofit service agency for $3.4M. The building is located on 1359 W Washington Blvd.

Construction News

Tandem Construction completed renovations on a 90k SF cheese factory for  Alouette Cheese USA in Lena, Ill to modernize the existing facility. The factory now has new concrete floors with tile and epoxy finishes, stainless steel floor drains, and a new 925 SF addition. Tandem's Ira Leibold, was the project manager. If the cheese wasn't embarrassed by its aging before, now it'll definitely stand out amidst the backdrop of a modern facility.
