IFMA Goes to School
DeVry Downers Grove
DeVry's new office and learning facilities at Highland Landmark V in Downers Grove opened its doors so IFMA Northern Illinois could tour last night. The online university moved into four 33k SF floors and part of the ground floor in January. VOA architects, which helped design the space, tells us DeVry was looking for a home office rather than a corporate HQ feel, and that employees were happy to be able to share common areas with students (like the casual meeting room above).
VOA's Andrej Mardinski and Jennifer Davis and Opus North's Jerry Ebert
VOA's Andrej Mardinski and Jennifer Davis, and Opus North's Jerry Ebert worked as architects and project managers on the new space. Jennifer says the use of daylighting was especially important to DeVry, so all of the office and conference-room fronts are glass or patterned glass. The conference rooms are also outfitted for video-conferencing. Panels outside each meeting room are synced to Outlook Calendars  to display room reservations (and Bill in HR's vacation plans, before somebody showed him how to use Outlook).
