City of Hope's Chicago Real Estate and Construction Future Leaders hosted their inaugural event, "Power Ties & Sky Highs" (presented by Tishman Speyer), at Paris Club last week. Proceeds benefited research in cancer, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS taking place at City of Hope. Pictured: CBRE associate Mark Cassata, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank associate Shanna Athas, Lend Lease Construction project manager Jenell Horvatin, Tishman Speyer associate Ana Acker, Reed Construction project engineer Matthew Mahoney, and Cushman & Wakefield associate director Eric LaCoursiere. Matt and Eric chair the City of Hope junior board, Mark and Jenell organized the Studio Paris soiree, and Shanna and Ana secured vital sponsorships.

Two biz dev experts, probably developing some business: Sensory Technologies' Ryan Wilhelm and izzy+'s Laura Kenney-Connell.The junior board got to work about three months ago, Mark tells us, and capped itsstrategic recruitment from significant area CRE and construction companies at around 20 members. The board was relieved they rented all of the swanky upstairs Studio Paris to house the overflowing crowd of 356.
