All Smiles
Yesterday, we told you about the positivity of the speakers at our Chicago Leasing Summit. Well, that was reflected by the congenial crowd, a handful of which appear below. We can't tell if it was the sunny weather, booming business, or chance of winning an iPad.

Howard Wiese and Dan Baker
They may be investment sales guys, but Marcus & Millichap'sHoward Wiese and Dan Baker could identify with the speakers, saying they're seeing improvement, too. Howard just sold a 100k SFoffice building in Barrington to a private investor. It was 40%occupied, so there's nowhere to go but up, Howard says.

Sarah Marracini and Ward Feste
Looking for a change of pace from our traditional breakfast event? City of Hope's Sarah Maraccini and Peregrine Group's Ward Festehope that you'll come to City of Hope's REACH Social event Thursday evening on May 5 at the House of Blues. It'll feature fivereal estate bands and has already raised $200k for the cancer research center in LA. Ward has been on REACH Social's board for13 years and is one of its longest standing members. At work, he's also seeing an uptick in job growth, especially for loan originators.
Jim Goodwin, Katie Dosmann, and Tom Krol
From our sponsor, ConEdison Solution, Jim Goodwin and Tom Krol, showing us ways to save money on your electricity. In fact, they already helped Studio PBD's Katie Dosmann save money on her electronics. Katie was the winner of an iPad raffle. In other ConEd news, the firm's bringing cleaner energy to its customers by building the country's largest solar field—with 77,000 panels—in PA.
Crowd shot

More than 200 real estate pros packed the Oak Room for our third event there this year. We hope to see you again for another Breakfast & Schmooze. Keep checking your e-mail, an announcement is coming soon!

Kelsey Balk and Angela Doehmer
Also handing out some goodies were Servcorp's Kelsey Balk andAngela Doemel. Another gracious sponsor, Servcorp is leasing space at two Chicago locations: 155 N Wacker and 300 N LaSalle. And in addition to paying commission to brokers who find them tenants, they raffled off gift cards to PrimeBar and Starbucksyesterday. The four lucky winners will be notified by e-mail.
Katherine Gibbons, Ted Yi and Todd Siegel

We snapped Principal Global Investors' Katherine Gibbons, Quarles & Brady's Ted Yi, and CBRE's Todd Siegel enjoying a cup of coffee before the event. Katherine is working on investing in multifamilybuildings, mostly in Chicago's CBD. Todd's in the CBD and neighborhoods focusing on retail leasing.
